Teeth Whitening

The preferred destination for teeth whitening on the South Shore!

One of the simplest and least invasive ways to enhance your smile is whitening your teeth. Whiter teeth has in fact become one of patients' primary aesthetic concerns when it comes to one's smile; as such, there have been some very effective teeth-whitening methods developed in recent years.

Teeth whitening, or bleaching, literally lightens teeth enamel to create a brighter, cleaner look. It's important to note that teeth whitening works only on natural teeth enamel; it is best to evaluate the need for any restoration replacement before the bleaching process, and have replacement done after bleaching. As restorations (caps, crowns, etc.) are matched to existing teeth color, they are best matched to the new, lighter shade.

Teeth whitening is lasting, but not permanent; every several years, a "touch-up" may be needed - especially if one drinks coffee, tea, or wine on a regular basis. Smoking also affects the life of bleaching results.

Why try teeth-whitening?
- If your teeth have become stained or yellowed over the years
- If medications has stained or darkened your teeth
- If you've experienced excessive fluoridation during teeth development (fluorosis)

When it comes to whiter teeth, what are my options?
- Dentist in Milton offers several different teeth -whitening options.

BriteSmile

BriteSmile on the South Shore!

BriteSmile is performed in the dental office, in one easy session. It guarantees long-lasting results and a brilliant, uniform look. BriteSmile is clinically proven to be safe and effective, and the process is simple. First, the BriteSmile whitening gel is applied to the teeth. This gel is then activated by the BriteSmile gentle blue light; simply sit back and relax while the light works its magic for 20 minutes - you can listen to music or watch TV in dental office comfortable facilities while it works! This process is then repeated twice more.

What is more - BriteSmile's benefits extend beyond just brightening your smile - not only does it eliminate years of stains and discoloration, but helps prevent gum disease and gingivitis as well! The patented light technology has the benefit of killing that harmful bacteria that can lead to these diseases.

Teeth Whitening at Home

Let dentist in Milton show you how!

If you prefer to whiten your teeth from the comfort of home, you'll need just two visits to our office to arm you with everything you need. At your first visit, we custom-make clear plastic trays from molds that we take of your teeth. You'll try these trays during your second appointment, when we ensure proper fit and make any necessary adjustments.

Depending on the desired level of whitening, these special trays are filled with whitening solution and worn either overnight or twice a day for 30 minutes (2 weeks total). Some people experience some teeth  sensitivity during the whitening process; this is normal and disappears when the bleaching process is completed. We encourage regular visits to our office to help maintain your results, and always provide care instructions for your teeth and trays.
